Het bedrijf "OP AGRINOVA Bio 2000 Soc. Coop” werd in 1988 opgericht als een landbouwcoöperatie van producenten en landbouwkundigen. In 1999 werd het een associatie van producenten met als doel de marketing, verspreiding en het gebruik van biologische landbouw. De bedrijven van de 55 leden situeren zich hoofdzakelijk in het oosten van Sicilië en beslaan in totaal bijna 500 hectare. 38% ervan is beplant met citrusvruchten, 45% met veldgewassen en de andere 17% bestaan uit verschillende groentegewassen en boomgaarden. Er wordt uitsluitend biologisch geteeld, in overeenstemming met de Europese Verordeningen 834/07 en 889/08.
